Client Requirement

Our client required a robust guarding system for their RPC (Returnable Plastic Crate) line to improve operator safety and ensure compliance with current safety standards. The existing configuration posed access and safety concerns, particularly in high-traffic production areas. The solution needed to integrate seamlessly with existing equipment while allowing for maintenance access and visibility.

Our Engineering Solution

The M&M Autopak team designed, fabricated, and installed a custom guarding system constructed entirely from stainless steel. The guarding features:

• Modular Design: A fully modular layout that aligns with the conveyor system, allowing future expansion or reconfiguration with minimal disruption.

• Hinged Access Panels: Strategically placed access doors with stainless steel mesh infill for ventilation and visibility. Each door is fitted with heavy-duty hinges and latching mechanisms to facilitate secure and quick access for maintenance and cleaning.

• Durable Construction: Built to withstand the rigors of an industrial food-grade environment, ensuring long service life and resistance to corrosion.

• Conformance to AS/NZS Standards: Designed in line with applicable Australian/New Zealand Standards for machine safety and guarding, meeting both operational and audit requirements.

The installation was completed on time and with zero disruption to the production schedule. The client now benefits from a significantly safer working environment with improved access and operator confidence.
